On June 12, 2025, heavy overnight and early morning rains caused rapid flash flooding, especially along Beitel Creek near Loop 410 and Perrin Beitel Road on the Northeast Side of San Antonio. The deadly flash flood killed 15 people on that day, including 13 in the immediate area.

On June 12, 2026, Eagle’s Flight Advocacy & Outreach is coordinating a Dedication of the Living Legacy Grove to honor the lives of the community members who perished in those floods.
